Electrical Designer

Job Description

Chemco is seeking to hire an experienced electrical designer with CAD experience based out of our Nisku head office. Experience in electrical and fiber optic design in an industrial facility will be assets.  The successful candidate will have the ability to work both independently and within a team, have strong communication skills, and a high level of attention to detail.

Experience and Education

  • 5-10 years of experience in industrial electrical design
  • Experience with industrial facility detailed design process
  • Registration or eligibility for registration as a C.E.T., P. Tech, or P. Eng.

 

Required Skills and Knowledge

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Proficient with MicroStation and/or AutoCAD
  • Familiar with relevant codes and industry best practices
  • Ability to prioritize work and manage time on multiple concurrent projects
  • Able to communicate clearly via email, online meetings, and in person
  • Ability to work in a team environment

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Reports to the engineering lead
  • Design layout drawings for cable tray and cable routing
  • Design wiring diagrams
  • Design termination drawings
  • Design schematic diagrams
  • Interface with 3D model
  • Create 2D drawings in CAD (MicroStation)
  • Interface with process unit EPC
  • Reviewing client scope of work, specifications, standards, and other documents
  • Input into project schedules and progress reports
  • Site visits as required

 

Work Location

  • Regularly office-based at the Chemco head office – 3135 4th Street, Nisku, AB
  • 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday to Friday with a possibility for a hybrid work schedule
