Kitimat, British Columbia, May 10, 2021 – Gitga’at Chemco Ventures Ltd. has been awarded a contract by JGC Fluor BC LNG JV (JFJV), the engineering, procurement and construction contractor for the LNG Canada Project, to provide end-to-end full-service capability for an industrial rail facility as a general contractor.
The contract includes detailed engineering, design, preparation of construction plans and specifications; and the supply, installation and turnover of an industrial rail facility in accordance with the American Railway Engineering and Maintenance-of-Way Association (AREMA) and Canadian National Railway standards. It also includes rail car storage, loading, and connecting tracks, including all railroad appurtenances, as well as the furnishing and installation of crossties, tie plates, rails, joint bars, turnouts, ballast, derails, track bonding and grounding, spill containment pans and all other items necessary for the installation of the complete industrial rail facility.
